My name is Caridad Herrera, and I am Cuban. I live in Cuba, and I am 59 years old. I come from a family with no religious beliefs. I did not receive any religious education at school, but I always had a desire and need for knowledge, to find answers to situations I considered mysterious. I began studying the Bible at the age of forty and used to attend the Catholic Church, but I could not find answers to my questions. Five years ago, I saw Islamic posts on Facebook, and I was fascinated by their clarity, beauty, and logic. I requested to join Islamic groups to continue my studies. A brother from my country gifted me a translated copy of the Qur’an, and from the very first reading, I was overwhelmed by an incomparable feeling. It was as if I had suddenly emerged from a world of darkness, and the true light appeared before me. I received testimony and guidance from a brother in Egypt, and since then, I have not stopped studying. My faith in Islam grows stronger every day, and my heart is devoted to Allah. I have been a Muslim for four years, and my only regret is that I did not embrace the true religion earlier. My life has completely changed. I am a fulfilled and happy woman. I live according to the teachings of Islam and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Thanks to Allah, my husband and daughter also embraced Islam. I wear the hijab with pride. Praise be to Allah.
